Luxury at Lentorre Lodge
Your stay here will be in a stand alone villa with its own plunge pool right outside. And you can have full use of the large guest swimming pool as well. The view from your villa stretches from the tamarind trees below the lodge out towards Mt Shompole in the distance. There is a tunnel leading to a dedicated photographic hide where you can be at eye level with all the creatures that come to drink—day and night. Your host and guide Robyn Preston is always happy to share her vast photographic experience to help you find the best spots and angles for your photographs. See Africa through the eyes of a renowned, international wildlife photographer and take home images that will astound your friends and family. There are no fences around this lodge so you are truly close to nature. Don’t worry about your safety though, as the Maasai askaris will escort you to your room, or to the photo hide, during darkness hours. The waterhole below the lodge is a haven for thirsty animals in the dry season. You might get lucky and see a leopard, striped hyena, lions, giraffes or even a porcupine or aardwolf as you sit with your cold wine before dinner. So many different species come here. The conservancy is also home to over 350 species of birds.
You can choose to do as little or as much as you like. This is your base for the duration. If your needs are rest and relaxation with only minimal activities, then what better place to be than here. Or, if you prefer to get out there, see the animals, discover the territory, hike, nature walk and make full use of the time, then we can cater to that as well. It’s up to you!
We’re here to make your stay a memorable experience.
This is one of the few places where you can do night game drives – there are no park rules constricting drive times. You can go on a guided nature walk and learn about the different animal tracks, different trees and their uses or take a hike up onto the escarpment and watch the sunset. There’s always time for sundowners on our evening game drives and you can choose to do a bush breakfast or bush dinner somewhere out in the wilderness as well. During some down time, why not indulge in a pampering massage? If you want to go higher, we can organise a helicopter ride overlooking the flamingo lakes of Magadi and Natron. In the evening listen to an informative talk from one of the Maasai elders about the life they lead in the village. So many interesting things during your stay here with us, you won’t want to leave!
