Maasai Mara Reserve would have to be the number one wilderness travel destination in Africa. It’s home to the Great Wildebeest Migration where 2 million strong wildebeest and zebra migrate into the reserve following the rains. No wildlife spectacle rivals this.
But, outside of this seasonal spectacle, this park hosts an abundance of predators and plains game all year round. Here you will see real Africa. Lions, leopard, cheetah, elephants, zebra, giraffe, hippo… there is a diverse array of wild animals in Maasai Mara. Your 5 day safari is focused entirely on finding the best wildlife sightings within this Reserve. No two days are the same.
5 day itinerary
Nairobi – Maasai Mara
We depart Nairobi after breakfast and make our way to the world famous Maasai Mara Reserve. We’ll make a stop along the way at the viewing point over looking the expansive Great Rift Valley.
Our next break is in Narok for a comfort stop/coffee before our final leg to the Reserve. We will arrive at our lodge for a sumptuous lunch before time to relax for the afternoon. You might want a dip in the pool or sit in the shade with a good book.
At 4pm we head off on our first game drive into the park to seek out lions, leopard, cheetah, elephants or anything out there that wants to be seen. As the sun sets, we’ll arrive back at our lodge for hot showers and dinner.
Later, lay your head on your pillow and wait for the sounds of lions calling their pride or hyenas cackling as you drift off to sleep. Lala vizuri!
Maasai Mara Reserve
Each day we depart the lodge after our yummy breakfast and spend a full day of safari game viewing. We will go where the best wildlife sightings are and explore different areas as we go.
There is no set plan as this is an uncharted adventure. We’ll get you where you need to be on any given day depending on what is happening. And, if you have a special animal you really would like to see, we’ll do our very best to find it for you.
As the day progresses, we stop under a shady tree for morning tea, a packed picnic lunch and then afternoon tea later as we wind down our exploring before heading back to our lodge in the early evening.
Maasai Mara – Nairobi
The time has come to leave and make our way back to the city life. We’ll make our comfort stop in Narok as we go and arrive back in Nairobi for cafe lunch. You’ll then be taken back to your post safari accommodation for a well earned siesta.
